Amiri (pronounced as ah-MEER-ee) is a name of many supposed heritages.

Firstly from the Cook Islands, meaning ‘Rock’. Secondly being Arabic (also with possible Hebrew and Persian roots) meaning ‘Ruler’, ‘King’ or ‘Prince’. Thirdly thought to be Japanese, meaning ‘Beautiful white Jasmine‘.

A few nice variations include: Moari – Amiria, thought also to be a variant of Amelia, and Greek – Amiriani (I love this, it has a cool Armani feel to it).

Some other names that blend well with Amiri are: Inari, Suvi, Imani and Emere.
